We bring the “lab” of Odd lab into practice through experimentation, testing, and making . The four of us are constantantly tinkering with various building materials. When we propose something unique to a client, these experiments give us confidence in our ability to execute them.
These activities are usually to test unusual applications of building materials like wood, clay, roof tiles, plaster, paints etc. We also try to dabble into allied aspects of architecture. Recently we have started a small nursery in our balcony. Here we grow cucumbers, basil, ladyfinger etc. Hence, we now have a reasonable grasp on the basics of organic farming.
Since one of us has an Environmental background, we will soon start experiments in passive/ semi-passive cooling and thermal comfort. These experiments will be crucial in delivering comfortable, livable rooms to our clients in the harsh warm and humid climate in and around Mumbai.
