The clients wanted a 2-BHK holiday home for their family. They wanted a home with spacious rooms on this rather small plot at Palghar.
Conventional rectangular planning would result in a large cuboidal mass taking up most of the plot leaving very little space for landscaping. Additionally, windows would only give dull views of the compound wall.
Hence, the rooms were arranged in an angular form allowing suitably sized triangular landscaped patches. The windows could now look into these patches or open directly into them.
The entrance was carefully planned with a low height ceiling with a view focussed on a small pond. This would function as a cozy evening or night time semi-outdoor space for the family.
Exposed laterite, concrete and kota stone give a natural warm feel to this home.
