This project required a deep respect and understanding of the village it was situated in. The new home to be constructed here would be one that directly influenced the spiritual and curtural life of the village.
People in the surrounding village had been passing through this site and using its well since a long time. The clients, wanted to continue this tradition and allow the villagers to even have partial access to the courtyard and the Mandir of the new home. This space would become a communal ground for the villages during festivals, especially during Ganesh Chathurthi.
The house was thus planned keeping in mind these five aspects : the path of the villagers, the well, the mandir, the courtyard and a deeply earthy vernacular architecture.

Villages passing walking along the street or using the village well, can glimpse the courtyard and the Mandir. They are welcome to sit for a while in the communal courtyard where the clients may come out to greet them. The clients foresee this home as less of an intrusion , but something that quietly compliments the simple lives of the villagers.
One can imagine the courtyard as a space where the villagers, once done with their work in their fields, wash up, and come to this courtyard. They quietly congregate, interact with each other and pay their respects to Lord Ganesha, visible through the doors of the Mandir.
